Does US30 use pips or points?

How do I calculate position size for a Dow Jones trade?
Decide the dollar amount you're willing to risk, divide it by your stop distance in points, then divide that by the point value of one lot to get the lot size. The calculator above does this arithmetic for you once you enter balance, risk percentage, and stop distance.
What is one lot of US30?
One standard lot of US30 is 1 pts, and mini and micro lots scale down from that in the usual 0.1 and 0.01 fractions. Check your broker's contract specification to confirm the exact figure they use, as this can vary by broker.
What is the swap rate for holding US30 overnight?
XM MT5, 2026-09-05 shows a long swap of -8.39 points and a short swap of 0.95 points per standard lot per night, which works out to -$8.39 and $0.95 respectively. Swap is set by each broker and changes daily, so treat this as one data point and check your own broker's contract spec for the number that applies to your account.
Is this the same as a profit calculator for US30?
It's the same underlying arithmetic: you supply the price move and lot size, and it multiplies those out into a dollar figure. It doesn't estimate or predict what a trade will do; it only tells you what a move you specify would be worth.
